The Cayman Islands is set to see its first ever reigning Miss Universe visiting June 24th to 26th, 2016.

The visit organized by businessman Matthew Leslie and Irma Arch of Miracle Brokers is in conjunction with the celebrations of Philippines Independence Month. The current Miss Universe is Pia Wurtzbach of the Philippines.

The visit will see Pia Wurtzbach doing an official tour of the Cayman Islands as well as being guest to various functions during her visit. Two of the highlights of her visit with be her appearance at the Philippines Independence Month Concert which features Bianca King headlining on Friday, June 24th, in what could be one of the biggest attended events at the Lion’s Center in recent history as the Filipino Community comes together to celebrate their Independence and catch a rare glimpse of their Beauty Queen. The second will be the Meet and Greet put together by the Miss Cayman Islands Committee, which will see Monyque Brooks, Miss Cayman Islands and Miss Universe hosting at the Lobster Pot on Saturday, June 25th. This is expected to be a sold out event and more information on this will be announced in a separate Press Release.

Anticipating the international coverage as well as the fact that this visit will be recorded and televised at the next Miss Universe Pageant, organizers are excited for the visit and the exposure it will give the Cayman Islands. Discussions with Miss Universe Organization members who will accompany Pia Wurtzbach will include the talks on the Cayman Islands feasibility to play host to a future Miss Universe Pageant. Such an event in the Cayman Islands would be extremely huge to the economy and tourism market says organizers and the Cayman Islands could be a few years away from being able to host such an event with the additional room stock being developed on the island.

The visit also includes a Cultural Display at Pedro’s Castle as well as visits to Government Administration Building and Government House. The public is encouraged to attend as many as the events as possible as we welcome Miss Universe to the Cayman Islands.
