Fresh on the heels of opening its newest property – The Londoner, David Morritt, owner of Morritt’s Resort, is refurbishing Morritt’s Tortuga Club and has given a makeover to Morritt’s Grand Resort in celebration of the property’s 25th anniversary. The US$4 million project adds new luxury suites at Morritt’s Tortuga Club and enhances the rooms at both properties with new amenities which will please long-time guests and new visitors alike.

Renovations in the Guilford Building at Morritt’s Tortuga Club offer optimal comfort for guests

At Morritt’s Tortuga Club, new luxury suites are currently under renovation which will feature spacious interiors, sophisticated décor with elegant finishes and state-of-the-art conveniences. Enhancements are being made to the Guilford Building at Morritt’s Tortuga Club and the Georges and Florence Buildings at Morritt’s Grand Resort.

A sample of the upgrades made in the kitchens at both resorts include white acrylic doors, black granite countertop, mosaic backsplash, new 30" stainless steel glass-top stove with microwave/exhaust fan above, large stainless steel refrigerator/freezer with ice maker, stainless steel dishwasher and fresh coats of paint.

Other enhancements include new American Leather sofa sleepers offering optimum comfort, new drapes, new sliding doors, removal of all carpets and addition of new flooring, updates to all exterior lighting on each patio, removal of all glass door enclosures from the bathroom tubs and installation of a curved shower rod and new curtains.

At Tortuga Club, bathrooms in one-bedroom units will feature new tubs, toilet (changed to a water saver type) and vanity while two-bedroom units will have a stacked washer and dryer.

In the Georges Building, additional refurbishments include new furniture in the living room, master bedroom and dining room, twin bedrooms have been converted to a guest bedroom with a king size bed, new bedding for all rooms, all kitchen and bathroom cabinets have new hardware and all bathroom accessories have been replaced with the addition of a wall mount magnifying mirror. Units in the Florence Building will soon feature new dining room and living room sets as well as new furniture in the master and twin bedrooms.

Morritt’s Tortuga Club – the original Morritt’s playground – was the first of the Morritt’s resorts. The property combines a welcoming ambiance with upscale accommodations and outstanding customer care, featuring 131 existing units that offer colorful living and dining areas, fully-equipped kitchens and balconies overlooking breathtaking scenery.

The Tortuga Club offers oceanfront and poolside accommodations in studio units, one- and two-bedroom suites as well as two-bedroom townhouses. Seaside suites face the captivating Caribbean Sea and provide unparalleled views of the morning sunrise. Poolside suites are situated around either the premier pool, fitted with a swim-up bar and invigorating waterfall, or the park pool, a tranquil setting perfect for relaxing.

Morritt’s Grand Resort is set on a beautiful pristine white-sand beach to the east of Morritt’s Tortuga Club. Built in 2001, Morritt’s Grand Resort offers luxurious one- and two-bedroom deluxe suites in a four-story oceanfront property featuring spectacular ocean views, spacious interiors, fully-appointed kitchens, upgraded amenities and floor plans for as many as eight people. All rooms feature a balcony overlooking the beach.

Room configurations available are one- and two-bedroom oceanfront deluxe suites. The focal point of Morritt’s Grand Resort, aside from the view, is the giant oceanview infinity pool, complete with swim-up bar, deluxe hot tub Jacuzzi and children’s pool.

Morritt’s Resort boasts four properties in one resort, Morritt’s Tortuga Club, Morritt’s Grand Resort, Morritt’s Residences and The Londoner. Each Morritt’s property provides an abundance of amenities, including housekeeping services, access to a business center, fitness center and tennis courts, daily activities and entertainment, pampering at the full-service La Mer Spa and use of all three on-property swimming pools.

Guests will enjoy delectable dishes and unique Caribbean cuisine at the resort’s restaurants: David’s Deep Blue Restaurant and Bar and Mimi’s Dock Bar and Restaurant, including daily happy hour specials and festive themed nights.

Among the many on-site leisure activities available to guests are Tortuga Divers and Red Sail Sports, providing jet skiing, sailing, and kayaking, wind surfing, banana boat rides, scuba diving, full- and half-day snorkeling trips and boat excursions.

The Morritt’s complex also features its own shopping center which houses Fosters Express grocery store, Sundry Boutique, Jacques Scott Wines & Spirits, Grand Jewelers, Andy’s Rent-A-Car and Italian Kitchen Restaurant & Pizzeria.

The Morritt’s Resort is the crown gem of Grand Cayman’s Eastern Districts. Morritt’s architectural brilliance hints of postmodern colonial style ambience fused with the tropical charm of a Caribbean lifestyle – a collage of "home away from home" luxurious accommodations, convenient shopping, ocean sea breeze surroundings and modern amenities with renowned Caymanian hospitality and world-class hotel services.
