Mourant Ozannes: 25 years in Cayman Islands
Offshore law firm Mourant Ozannes marked its 25th anniversary in the Cayman Islands with a special celebration outside its offices on the waterfront in Camana Bay on 15 February.
More than 200 guests joined the Mourant Ozannes partners and employees for the party, which featured a cigar roller, a rumtasting bar and an impressive fireworks display.
Managing Partner Peter Hayden addressed the guests and described how the Cayman Islands firm, which originally launched with four partners and staff as Quin & Hampson in 1992 and became part of international law firm Mourant Ozannes in 2007, has grown significantly over the years and is now the third largest law firm in the Cayman Islands.
“This is a major milestone for our office,” he said. “We are proud of our longstanding heritage in the Cayman Islands.”
Hayden said Mourant Ozannes now has more than 85 people based in its Camana Bay offices, including nine who have been with the firm since its Quin & Hampson days. Ruth Fisher, who has worked for the firm for 23 years, is the longest-serving employee.
“It is great to be celebrating 25 years in the Cayman Islands,” Hayden said. “It has been an incredible journey for the firm, and one that we have shared with many of our staff and clients. As we look forward to the next 25 years, we are excited about the opportunities that we can see.”
