A new film debuts every Saturday at 9pm AST
MIAMI, FL., May 4, 2018 – This May, HBO audiences will enjoy an exciting collection of movie premieres, including the long-awaited premiere of HBO’s original film FAHRENHEIT 451, the moving story of soldier Desmond T. Doss, as captured on HACKSAW RIDGE, and two fun movies for the whole family, DESPICABLE ME 3 and PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN: DEAD MEN TELL NO TALES. The new movies premiere every Saturday at 9pm and will also be available on HBO GO.
HACKSAW RIDGE (May 5):
The true story of Desmond T. Doss (Andrew Garfield), a soldier who won the Congressional Medal of Honor despite refusing to bear arms during WWII on religious grounds. Doss was drafted and ostracized by fellow soldiers for his pacifist stance, but went on to earn respect and adoration for his bravery, selflessness and compassion after he risked his life – without firing a shot – to save 75 men in the Battle of Okinawa.
DESPICABLE ME 3 (May 12):
The mischievous Minions hope that Gru will return to a life of crime after the new boss of the Anti-Villain League fires him. Instead, Gru decides to remain retired and travel to Freedonia to meet his long-lost twin brother for the first time. The reunited siblings soon find themselves in an uneasy alliance to take down the elusive Balthazar Bratt, a former 1980s child star who seeks revenge against the world.
FAHRENHEIT 451 (May 19):
The new HBO original film is based on the classic novel of the same name by American writer Ray Bradbury. Starring Michael B. Jordan and Michael Shannon, the film depicts a future society where books are banned and burned, and a fireman begins to read in secret and discovers an underground rebellion committed to protecting literature.
