Just after 7AM yesterday morning,2 June, the 9-1-1 Communications Centre received a report of a motor vehicle accident involving a pedestrian along Shamrock Road near Ocean Club. Police and fire officers responded. A white Hyundai Accent heading in the direction of George Town had hit a female pedestrian standing on the side of the road. The woman was taken to Cayman Islands Hospital but was not seriously injured; she was later released. The woman driving the Hyundai Accent placed the 9-1-1 call and was on scene when first responders arrived.

Police understand that a second vehicle, a dark grey or black Toyota Yaris, was also involved in this accident. Police are requesting that the driver of this vehicle, or anyone who witnessed this accident or has information pertaining to it, please call the RCIPS Traffic Management Unit at 649-6254.
