National Children’s Festival of the Arts
NCFA highlights best creative talent from schools
The National Children’s Festival of the Arts invites the public to its annual showcase for the Cayman Islands’ brightest talents in music, the performing arts, art and craft. Events are as follows:
- The NCFA Art Exhibition at Heritage House, Cayman Brac will be open 26-30 May from 9am-5pm. It will close for lunch every day from noon until 1pm.
- The NCFA Arts and Crafts exhibition opens at the George Town Public Library tomorrow 27 May 3.30pm and continues through 12 June
- The NCFA Showcase of the Bands takes place at the Mary Miller Hall, 29 May 6.30pm. Tickets sold at gate. Price will be $5 for adults $2 for children.
- The NCFA final performing arts showcases are scheduled for Mary Miller Hall 2-4 and 6 June. Tickets sold at the gate. Cost is$5.00 for adults $2 for children.
- The NCFA Young Musician of the Year will be determined at the Harquail Theatre on 5 June from 6.30pm.Tickets sold at gate. Cost is $5 for adults $2 for children.

PARTICIPANTS: The children of the Cayman Islands public and private schools, local and international adjudicators, public and private sector teaching staff and Education Department officials.
BACKGROUND: For decades the Festival has been a fixture of the school calendar. Now that this year’s performing arts eliminations have wrapped up (on 21 May) the public events will begin. The Arts and Crafts exhibition opens 27 May 3:30pm. The Showcase of the Bands takes place 29 May 6:30PM. The final performing arts showcases are 2-4 and 6 June AT 6PM Mary Miller Hall. The Young Musician of the Year is 5 June at Harquail Theatre 6:30pm and the NCFA Awards are 20 June. Competition is already over in Cayman Brac.
