Big Art Auction 5 – A Success!
A special thank you to the artists, collectors, and supporters who recently joined us for the Big Art Auction 5! On display were 23 artworks by celebrated local contemporary artists before they were auctioned in a “Sotheby’s style” auction on 01 November 2018.
Funds raised at the event will be allocated to collection development, artwork conservation, and collection-based educational initiatives.

NGCI’s Annual Fundraising Gala – Tickets on sale!
Get your uniquely embellished frocks and suits, bold hair styles, and extreme make-up runway looks ready to
celebrate – “extreme fashion”!
One of the most anticipated parties of the year is set to take place at the National Gallery of the Cayman Islands (NGCI) 30 November 2018. The Art of Fashion Costume Gala will be sure to inspire guests but most importantly the event helps to raise essential funds needed for NGCI to continue to provide free community programmes for all ages and backgrounds.
Tickets to the event are on sale and can be purchased individually for CI $195.00 per person or by tables, CI $1,900.00 for a table of ten, CI $3,000 for a premium table of ten, and CI $3,500.00 for a premium table of twelve. Tickets include a reception, seated dinner, live auction, presentation of the Art of Fashion collections, and dancing to a DJ until the early hours. Premium tables include champagne, a professional photo of the table, and mentions throughout the evening. Tickets purchased after 23 November 2018 will increase in price.National Gallery staff and volunteers have crafted a Pinterest page, to share visual collections of extreme fashion-inspired looks for you to peruse. Davin Ebanks -Waterline Eastern and Western Passage
The National Gallery is launching a new biennial exhibition and award that seeks to showcase the very best of Cayman’s artistic landscape.
The inaugural exhibition will be an open call with a wide latitude that will enable diverse and varied expression.
Artists are invited to submit work for consideration and to engage in an internationally juried process. Contemporary work in a wide variety of media from painting, photography, new media including video, experimental film and sound works, collage, digital collage, sculpture, drawing, installation, textiles, ceramics, fibre arts, performance and prints, will be considered.
Selected Artwork will feature in a three-month long exhibition at the National Gallery and in the accompanying exhibition catalogue. In addition, each year one exhibiting artist will be awarded the Juror’s Selection Award with a significant monetary prize and the opportunity to develop a solo exhibition with the National Gallery.
