An Intimate Journey through Cayman’s Studios & Galleries
Kicking off the summer season with an energetic start, Cayman Art Week returned from the 22nd of May to the 26th, with its biggest year yet. The event highlighted an impressively coordinated lineup of fifteen galleries, eleven studios, and fourteen pop-up exhibitions spread across all three islands. Attendees were treated to an extensive variety of art mediums, ranging from paintings, ceramics, installations, sculptures and artistic interventions. This event also created a unique opportunity for direct engagement with artists in the context of their work.

With so many venues featured, curious art viewers had ample opportunities to curate their own experience of the collections available for their enjoyment. From one end of the island to the other, guests were invited into often private spaces and the less frequently visited creative havens in the Eastern districts, Cayman Brac and Little Cayman. Each day focused on a different district, with complementary buses providing convenient transportation between locations. In addition to the exhibitions, the week featured engaging talks, workshops, and tie-in specials with local restaurants.

The opening event held onsite at the National Gallery was a highlight, where invigorating discussions and connections were made over the enjoyment of complimentary refreshments. Regular supporters of the local creative market and many new patrons came together in a collaborative effort to support artists in Cayman.

This event was made possible through the collaborative efforts of the many parties involved and their efforts to invigorate the local art scene have been greatly appreciated!
