The Honourable Johany ‘Jay’ Ebanks, MP, serving as the reappointed Minister of Planning, Agriculture, Housing, Infrastructure, Transport, and Development in the new Cabinet, is thrilled to have the opportunity to continue advancing the initiatives of the Ministry and drive positive change in the lives of the Caymanian people.

Understanding the importance of effective planning, sustainable agriculture, inclusive transport, affordable housing, durable infrastructure, and holistic development, Minister Jay Ebanks looks forward to working in collaboration with government officials, relevant ministries, agencies, and civil society actors to ensure projects and plans align with the diverse needs of Caymanian residents.
During the renewed term, Minister Jay Ebanks has outlined several priority projects to be completed within the next two years. These projects include the Georgetown Revitalization Initiative, drafting a National Public and Affordable Housing Policy with a 10-year Strategic Plan for the Cayman Islands, establishing a Department of Transport, implementing the Cayman Islands Agricultural Land Use License Policy (CI-ALLP), introducing critical bills, modernizing the Islands’ submarine cable infrastructure, finalizing major road and infrastructure projects, implementing the Cayman Islands Food and Nutrition Security Policy (CIFNSP), undertaking the phased implementation of the National Road Safety Strategy, continuing the implementation of Plan Cayman, among others.
The Minister extends heartfelt gratitude to the team at the Ministry of Planning, Agriculture, Housing, Infrastructure, Transport and Development, as well as the citizens of the Cayman Islands for their unwavering support and trust in his leadership. He looks forward to their continued support as he works towards enriching the lives of the Caymanian people.
