NCFA Arts and Crafts Show opens

077The “old” George Town Public Library has been transformed into a riot of vivid colours and arresting patterns.

For the next two weeks the library is hosting a display of art and craft work by some richly talented students from most primary and high schools on Grand Cayman.

Education Minister Tara Rivers joined other guests at the launch of the National Children’s Festival of the Arts (NCFA) 2014 Art and Craft exhibition last Tuesday, 27th May 2014.

Work on display includes paintings, prints, pencil and ink drawings, textiles, pottery and various other materials.

Participating schools include: Cayman Prep and High School, East End Primary School, Clifton Hunter High

School, Sir John A. Cumber Primary School, John Gray High School, Hon. Edna Marie Moyle Primary School, Prospect Primary School, Savannah Primary School, St Ignatius Catholic School, Triple “C” School, Truth For Youth School, and the Cayman Islands Further Education Centre.

Sponsors include the Cayman Islands Government, Cayman National Cultural Foundation, Rotary Club of Grand Cayman Central, Cayman National Bank and CICSA Co-op Credit Union.

There is no charge to attend the show, which is open during library hours 10.00am-6.00pm, through Thursday 12 June 2014.
