New Harvey scratch-off series out
12 tickets feature artist’s work
Guy Harvey and The Florida Lottery are proving to be good buddies for lottery players fishing for a big jackpot.
The Florida Lottery last week rolled out a newer version of scratch-off games displaying the artwork of Harvey, a celebrated marine artist, scientist and conservationist. The Florida Collector Series features 12 scenes of Florida wildlife species. Last year’s series consisted of only six.
Last year’s Guy Harvey game had a strong first three weeks, outselling any other $2 game that had been launched during the last three fiscal years. Players spent $6.6 million playing it during its first three weeks, almost double the performance of average $2 game sales at the time.
Like last year, there’s also a promotion if you scratch and miss. From now through Aug. 19, players can enter the Guy Harvey Sportsman’s Paradise Second Chance Promotion on the lottery’s website (FloridaLottery.com). Four drawings are set for June 19 through Aug. 21, with 12 winners.
Grand-prize winners will receive a Sportsman’s Paradise fishing trip for two to either St. Petersburg; Islamorada; Piñas Bay, Panama; or Grand Cayman Island. The winner of the Grand Cayman Island trip, along with a guest, will fish with Harvey himself.
Harvey’s licensing proceeds from the sale of the tickets go to The Guy Harvey Ocean Foundation, which advocates for sustainable fishing practices, funds research and supports educational programs.
Harvey’s series is one of about 60 scratch-off games currently available. They are for sale at counter displays at more than 13,000 retailers statewide and some lottery vending machines.
