MIAMI, Florida – Week one of the Concacaf Nations League is in the books and from a team and player perspective there were many notable statistics that emerged from the 34 matches played between Leagues A, B and C.

There was a total of 118 goals scored during the six days, with 82 coming from open play. The large majority of those goals were scored by the home team, 70, compared to 45 goals for the visiting team.

If anything, fans were treated to goals during the matches, with just three scoreless draws. Teams also benefitted from scoring the first goal, with 25 of the 28 victories achieved by the team that found the back of the net first.

But defenses and goalkeepers also had plenty to feel proud about, with 17 clean sheets registered during the 34 matches and 204 total saves made.

Eddipo Rodriguez of the Dominican Republic was another player who proved to be a thorn in the side of opponents, as he led week one in 13 fouls received.

Jamaica fans could feel plenty confident that the ball was in a safe spot whenever it was at the feet of Adrian Mariappa, who led all players in passes (124) and completed passes (119), resulting in 96% passing efficiency.

While youth was served for Antigua and Barbuda’s 16-year-old D’Andre Bishop, who was the youngest goalscorer of the week, Saint Martin’s Wilfried Dalmat showed that experience counts for something too, as the 37-year-old was the oldest scorer in week one.

At the team level, Guatemala was the top performer with 15 goals, 10 assists and 56 scoring chances, but Bahamas also showed off their accuracy with a 95.8% passing completion percentage.

Also, credit is deserved for Martinique, who demonstrated their hustle by leading all teams in ball recoveries with 24, while the U.S. Virgin Islands frustrated opponents, resulting in 41 fouls received.

Across all leagues, there were many notable stats from week one of the Concacaf Nations League.
