NOTICE: MOBILE AND POSTAL VOTING
Elections Office
The Elections Office wishes to remind all voters wishing to vote by postal ballot or mobile voting that the final date for applications to be received is Friday July 6.
In the case of postal ballots applicants may obtain the necessary forms either from the Elections Office at 150 Smith Road Centre or from the website www.electionsoffice.ky.Applications must be accompanied by either a copy of an airline ticket or flight itinerary.
Those wishing to vote by mobile polling may obtain their application forms from the same sources noted above. The criteria for qualifying to vote by this method is as outlined below:
(a) an elector is unable or likely to be unable-
(i) to go in person to the polling station because he is or is
likely to be in a hospital, rest home or other similar
institution, or because he is a geriatric at home;
(ii) by reason either of blindness or any other physical
incapacity to go in person to the polling station or, if able
to go, to vote unaided; or
(iii) to go in person to the polling station because of the
general nature of his occupation, service or employment;
and
(b) that elector is not entitled under section 52 to vote as an absent elector
The Elections Office encourages all voters to exercise their democratic right to vote. There are 39 polling stations in the 6 electoral districts to accommodate voters. Voting at the polls should be quite an easy and quick process. There will be a referendum information station in each polling division staffed with referendum personnel to assist voters.
