Official Funeral for Vestryman Mr. A.J. Miller

The official funeral for Mr. Arley James ‘A.J.’ Miller, Cert. Hon., will be held over two days – Thursday, 26 May and Friday, 27 May 2022. He was 92.

At the time of his passing, Mr. Miller was one of the few surviving members of the Legislative Assembly of Justices and Vestry, Cayman Islands’ original legislative entity, which evolved in 1959 with the first written Constitution into the Legislative Assembly (transitioned now to the House of Parliament).

In honour of Mr. Miller’s service, he will lie in state at the House of Parliament on Thursday from 10 am to 1 pm, giving past and present Members of Parliament, Government officials, friends, family members and members of the public an opportunity to pay their respects.

On Friday, a funeral service at Savannah United Church will be preceded by the viewing from 12 noon. The service will start at 1 pm, with interment following at Pease Bay Cemetery, also in Bodden Town.

The Cayman Islands Flags will fly at half-mast at Government buildings on Thursday and Friday as a mark of respect for the departed vestryman.
