The official opening of the Cayman Islands Centre for Business Development, an entity under the Ministry of Commerce, Planning and Infrastructure, will take place on Tuesday, September 1, 2020, 3:00 p.m, at Baytown Plaza, West Bay Road, Grand Cayman.

Present will be

Hon. Joey Hew, Minister of Commerce, Planning and Infrastructure, Representatives of Cayman Islands Centre for Business Development and Representatives of the Business Community.

The Cayman Islands Centre for Business Development was originally to be a handholding incubator for micro and small businesses. It virtually opened in March to respond to the immediate needs of micro and small enterprises during the pandemic. It also coordinated government relief measures to support businesses across the Islands.

Going forward, Government will use the Centre and its strategic partners to ensure that the small business sector emerges strong and becomes one, if not, the major driving forces behind the Islands economy.
