Officials ‘Think-Pink’

Deputy Governor the Hon Franz Manderson, Cert. Hon, and Chief Officer, Portfolio of the Civil Service, Gloria McField-Nixon, received Breast Cancer Awareness pins today (Tuesday, October 9, 2012), from Lions Club of Tropical Gardens’ (LCTG’s) Past-President Kerry Nixon (R) and club member Judy Witter (L).

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and the LCTG’s fundraising efforts include a Dress-Down Day/Wear Pink on Friday, October 12, as well as the Brenda Tibbetts Lund Memorial Run/Walk on Saturday, October 20.

Pins, tee shirts and other items may be purchased 10a.m. to 5p.m. weekdays from a store-front in the Elizabethan Square, George Town through October 19.

This is the 15th year of the local observance.  Proceeds from fundraising will facilitate the grant of vouchers for free mammogram tests (over 500 last year). It also assists breast cancer patients with their expenses.
