Under the 13th Amendment of the U.S. Constitution, slavery and involuntary servitude remain legal as punishment for a crime allowing the government to legally subject incarcerated people to forced labor.

This year, advocates in several states are gearing up to make change happen to outlaw slavery explicitly once and for all. We’re right there with them supporting state level action while moving towards a federal change to the 13th Amendment of the U.S. Constitution.
Together with partners, 18,500+ in our community are demanding all U.S. states and the federal government to explicitly outlaw slavery and involuntary servitude as punishment for a crime in the U.S. and state constitutions.
Can you help us get to 20,000 signatures? Sign the petition and share your thoughts in the comments.
In solidarity,
Krysta and the team supporting the Freedom United community
