PDL helps the Cancer Society fund Chemotherapy Unit
CICS is aware that patients may not always be able or willing to travel overseas for treatment and some prefer to recuperate surrounded by the comfort of loved ones at home. This project by CICS in partnership with the Health Services Authority will provide better accommodation to those patients who wish to have their chemotherapy treatment done locally, in the Cayman Islands.
Donovan Brummer, Vice Chair of the Cancer Society Board of Directors said, “This chemotherapy unit is important to us, but even more so to all of the cancer patients that it will facilitate. It’s a breakthrough step to further improve the healthcare services here in the Cayman Islands.”
Shane Foster, Managing Director of PDL said, “PDL is extremely pleased to contribute as a partner sponsor to CICS for such a worthy cause that is dear to us and so many in our community. This project will help to benefit and give hope to others in the future. We are happy to be a part of that.”
Brummer said, “We are very thankful for the donation handed to us by Shane Foster from PDL. This support is most appreciated. Through such generosity, we will get closer to meeting our target amount and open the doors of the new chemotherapy unit in the near future.”
