Fatal Motor Vehicle Accident
UPDATE: Oct 29 –
Police investigations into Sunday morning’s fatal road crash in Mangrove Avenue, Prospect, continue. The passenger, who died following the crash, can now be named to you as Egbert Robinson, aged 24 years, of Bodden Town.
The driver of the vehicle remains in hospital in a stable condition. As previously stated, the driver was arrested on suspicion of DUI and causing death by dangerous driving.Anyone who has any information concerning the crash is asked to contact George Town police station on 949-4222.
Oct 28 Breaking News
At about 3:45 AM Sunday 28 October 2012 a one vehicle MVA occurred at Mangrove Ave, Prospect, where a white Nissan Sunny motor car crashed into a wall. All emergency services were called out as both persons were trapped in the wreckage, one of them was pronounced dead on arrival at the GT Hospital. The driver was arrested on Suspicion of DUI and causing death by Dangerous driving.
The Police are appealing to any persons who witnessed either incidents to call 9494222 to assist the investigations.
Stabbing:
At about 12:45 AM on Sunday 29 October 2012 police was informed of a stabbing incident at McField Square in GT and that the victim was transported to the hospital in a private motor car. Officers were deployed to the hospital and to the location where the incident took place.
On arrival at the hospital the victim was being rushed to surgery with at least 3 stab wounds. He is listed as in critical condition.
Police secured the crime scene and a male suspect was arrested.
The matter is under investigation and an update will be published shortly.
Robbery:
At 7:23 AM Saturday 27 October 2012 a 21 years old male complainant reported that at 3 AM he was robbed as he was on Lawrence Blvd. in the parking lot near the A La Kebab Restaurant. The victim said he asked a male for a light who then robbed him of his gold chain and $100 CI dollars in cash. He received a slight injury during the incident.
The robber got into a waiting car, Silver in colour, which had three other persons in it and they drove off towards West Bay.
The robber is described as approximately 25 years old, dark complexion, slim built about 6 feet tall, short dark curly hair and speaks with a Caymanian accent. He was wearing a short sleeve baggy t-shirt
