In regards to the M /V accident  which occurred in the vicinity of the Lone Star Restaurant around 22:32 hrs last night, the Police  can now confirm that that the driver was arrested on suspicion of DUI  and has been bailed.

The male pedestrian who was a visitor, remains hospitalized in critical care due to serious head injuries.

The investigation into  the accident is still ongoing.

At 10:32 on Fri (8)  a serious  accident occurred near the pedestrian crossing  in the vicinity of the  Lone Star Restaurant. A male pedestrian was struck by a vehicle driven by a female driver.

The pedestrian has been taken to the George Town hospital with serious head injuries.

Police are investigating.
