Photographers awarded at virtual ceremony. Charity fundraising figures announced
Adapting to the current public health guidance, The BPA’s virtual gala goes live.
Wednesday 31st March
London, UK –Innovating a new way to share British Photography with the world, the virtual awards area hosts explorable virtual galleries, competition reports and metrics as well as a summary of funds raised, an awards show and more. The show, presented for the first time in a free-to-view format is available to stream globally.
Having had a turbulent year the photographic industry in the UK comes together to celebrate the best images and imagemakers from across the disciplines. Matching last year’s charity fundraising level of over £20,000 spread across the 20 UK charities, the competition has been so well supported.
Hugo Donnithorne-Tait, Director of The British Photography Awards, said: “With so many people unsure of their income, job security and short on opportunities to photograph this year, the industry has had some very tough months. We still can’t believe so many people donated to charity during this period. On behalf of all our amazing charities,we thank you all so much!â€
The awards is accessible on the BPA’s main website from 1900 GMT : www.britishphotographyawards.org/event and will be available to view for weeks if people miss the live premier.
