Police investigate robbery in George Town & arrest one culprit

Shortly after midnight, on Tuesday 26 December, police received a report of a robbery that took place in the parking lot of a commercial premises on Eastern Avenue, shortly before midnight, on Monday 25 December.
It was reported that the victim parked his vehicle in the lot to eat and rest. A disturbance woke the victim and he exited the car to investigate.
A man armed with a Phillips screwdriver attempted to enter the vehicle. The victim intervened and the assailant attacked him with the screwdriver and a scuffle ensued. While the scuffle was taking place, a second person entered the vehicle and started the ignition. The assailant ran to the vehicle and fled the scene in the vehicle with the other person, driving south on North Church Street.
The assailant is described as a young man of dark complexion, with two corn rows in his hair. The other person is described as being of dark complexion, also with corn rows in their hair.
Police conducted a search and located the vehicle on Rock Hole Road, George Town. A 34-year-old male, of George Town, who was seated inside the vehicle, was arrested on suspicion of Robbery. A second male fled the scene.
