Man arrested in connection with East End incident
A 19-year-old man was arrested yesterday (Tuesday, 26 March) on suspicion of causing GBH and damage to property. The arrest is in connection with the incident in East End where a police officer was injured.
He remains in police custody whilst the investigation continues.

Around 10.21pm on Friday 22nd March 2013 Officers from the Eastern Districts responded to a report of tyres being burnt and the consumption of Drugs in the vicinity of the Pirates Cove Bar in East End.
On the arrival of the Police it was observed that a party was in progress at the bar and that there were in excess of 100 patrons in attendance. When the Officers returned to their Police vehicle they discovered that both of the front tyres had been punctured.
As a result of this additional Officers from the Uniform Support Group were deployed to the scene. At around 1:42am whilst monitoring the crowds an officer was reportedly struck with an object to the head, as a result the officer was transported to the hospital and admitted in an unconscious state.
Due to the the injury, emergency surgery was performed on the Officer, he remains hospitalized in a stable but serious condition.
Detectives from Bodden Town Police Station CID are conducting an investigation following the incident.
