Two men shot outside a nightclub in West Bay Road have been released from hospital.

The pair suffered gunshot wounds in the early hours of Wednesday morning just outside Club 7 (pictured) near Grand Pavillion.

One man was arrested at the scene and detectives say a firearm, thought to be a handgun, was also recovered.

In December a 36 year old man was stabbed inside the same venue. One person was arrested. The incidents are understood not to be related.

A spokesman for the RCIPS said: “Police are seeking the assistance of any persons who may have been present at the club and who may have witnessed the incident.

“Police can confirm that a firearm was recovered at the scene, and that one male person has been arrested in relation to the incident.

“Anyone with information is asked to call RCIPS Tip-Line on 949-7777

“Persons wishing to provide information but would like to remain anonymous are asked to use Crime Stoppers.”

Detectives say inquiries are continuing.
