Premier visits Department of Health Regulatory Services
At the first stop in late February, the new Minister Alden McLaughlin, Councillor Roy McTaggart, Chief Officer Jennifer Ahearn, and other senior ministry officials met with the staff of the Department of Health Regulatory Services (DHRS), which monitors and regulates the health insurance industry, and the health care industry in the Cayman Islands. In addition, it oversees the registration and licensing of health care practitioners in the Cayman Islands.
Premier McLaughlin said that visiting the agency drove home the level of commitment and hard work that the staff members display in dealing with complex and emotive issues.
Mr McLaughlin will soon visit other departments new to his portfolio such as: the Health Services Authority, Mosquito Research & Control Unit (MRCU), Department of Environmental Health (both Grand Cayman and Cayman Brac offices), National Gallery, Cayman National Cultural Foundation (CNCF) and the National Museum. He will also be travelling to Cayman Brac to visit the Ministry Department’s offices there.
