Senior Government officials:  HE the Governor Helen Kilpatrick, Deputy Governor Franz Manderson, and others, plus supporting organizations and inmates and staff were all part of Her Majesty’s Cayman Islands Prison Service’s Literacy Day 2013.

The programme included:

·         Reading by HE & the Deputy Governor

·         Poems by prisoners

·         Readings by prisoners

·         Reading session by Lady Rabia

·         Song competition by the prisoners

·         Music medley my HMCIPS Band.

This all happened on Friday, 18 October 2013 at HM Prison Northward. The day began at 10am with education/vocation display booths from prison & partner agencies/companies).

The official programme started at 12:30pm, with opening remarks by Director Neil Lavis.
