Prison officer attacked
Police are investigating an assault at HMP Northward when a prison officer said he was bitten.
The officer told police at Bodden Town Station that he was attacked during a fight at the jail.
A spokesman for the RCIPS said: “At 7:35 am on the 16thMarch 2012, a prison officer attended the Bodden Town Police Station, where he reported that his upper right ear had been bitten by an inmate during an altercation at HMP Northward.
“The officer was taken to the hospital where he received treatment for his injuries. The incident is under investigation by the Bodden Town Police Station.”
