Public input request for proposed speed limit changes

RU2 350-1The National Roads Authority along with fellow members of the Traffic Management Panel (TMP) announced a public input initiative on proposed speed limit changes to certain roads on Grand Cayman today, 18 November 2013.

Members of the TMP include the Ministry of Planning, Agriculture, Housing and Infrastructure, National Roads Authority (NRA), Department of Vehicle and Drivers’ Licensing (DVDL) and the Royal Cayman Islands Police Service (RCIPS).  The panel has been working together for nearly two years on an Island-wide speed limit review for the new Traffic Law (2011).

Public engagement for input to the proposed changes will take place from 18 November through until 6 December 2013.  The public will have a variety of means to communicate their preferences to the proposed speed limit changes via the internet and in-person.

During the coming week, NRA Transportation Planner, Marion Pandohie will be visiting UCCI on Wednesday, 20 November and will be attending the Drive Cayman event on Sunday, 24 November with the map of proposed speed limit change locations.

For more information and to participate with the public input process, please visit www.caymanroads.com  or email [email protected] or contact Marion Pandohie at 946-7780.
