Closing of the George Town Landfill
Officials from the Department of Environmental Health’s (DEH) is advising the public that the George Town Landfill will be close from 3pm tomorrow, Wednesday 22, May 2013, for Elections day; The Landfill will re-open on Thursday 23, May 2013 with normal business hours of 7am to 6:30pm.
The DEH apologizes for the inconvenience this closure may cause.

DVDL Licensing in WB closed
The Department of Vehicle and Drivers’ Licensing in West Bay will be closed on Tuesday, May 21st, 2013 following the Public Holiday (Discovery Day) on Monday, May 20th, 2013. We will return to normal operations on Thursday, May 23rd, 2013.
Church Street, WB, closed to all vehicular traffic from10 pm on the Tuesday 21st May
Subject: Church Street, West Bay Closed to All Vehicular Traffic
Church Street will be closed today at 10 pm to all vehicular traffic at the 4 Way Junction and Church Street near the junction with Elizabeth Street for Election related operations.
Note that traffic should be able to be diverted from Church Street onto Elizabeth Street.
Cubans in Little Cayman
Thirty Cuban migrants are in Little Cayman waters, including 29 males and one female.
Their vessel developed engine trouble and ended up near Cayman Brac. They left this morning after the weather cleared, claiming to be on their way to Honduras, but ended up in Little Cayman.
Immigration officials say the group includes a number of repeat travellers, including one person who has been to the Cayman Islands three times previously.
UPDATE: GC juror report date change
The Grand Court juror report date has been changed.
Grand Court Jurors are to report on Monday 27th May 2013 at 9:45 a.m.

Public School closure notice & exam schedule
The Ministry of Education and Department of Education Services would like to inform parents that due to the utilization of our facilities for the upcoming General Elections, Government schools will be closed on May 21 and May 22, 2013.
The school closures do not affect exam schedules. Students from Clifton Hunter High School (CHHS), John Gray High School (JGHS), Layman E. Scott Sr. High School (LSHS) and Cayman Islands Further Education Centre (CIFEC) are required to report to their respective school as per exam schedule below. Students must be in attendance as exams cannot be rescheduled.
EXAMS:
Tuesday, May 21 – AQA Biology, CXC English A Papers 1 & 2
Wednesday, May 22 – CXC Mathematics General Papers 1 & 2
School buses will operate as normal for students sitting exams on these dates.
