RBC Executive Rider pays special attention to local clients

WILLEMSTAD – RBC head of Commercial and Capital Markets in the Caribbean, Tim Rider, recently visited Curaçao to meet key clients and government stakeholders. Rider also took the opportunity to spend time with Russell Kopke, the newly appointed Area Vice President Business Banking for Curaçao and Bonaire, and his team. “We have a great team in Curaçao and a great leader for the Dutch Caribbean in our Managing Director Steven Coutinho. I was also very pleased that I was able to meet with some of our key clients and thank them for their business,” said Rider.

Together with the Curaçao Business Banking team, Steven Coutinho (Managing Director of RBC Dutch Caribbean) and Kopke (Area Vice President Business Banking for Curaçao and Bonaire), Rider held an impressive tour during his two day visit. He met with 40 key clients, numerous government stakeholders and key government utility companies. Responsible for RBC’s Corporate and Business Banking teams, as well as RBC’s Capital Markets team in the Caribbean, Rider is focused on growing RBC’s market share and providing a differentiated experience for our clients.

“Getting out to the markets is always a great opportunity for me,” said Rider, who is based in The Bahamas. “I always enjoy the opportunity to meet with our Business Banking teams in the different markets and get a sense of how we’re helping our clients succeed. My time here in Curaçao was very insightful, and I’m glad to see that our clients are happy with the services we offer.”

Rider-greeting-guests-300x137Russell Kopke_Area Vice President Business Banking Curacao and BonaireBefore Kopke was appointed toArea Vice President for Curaçao and Bonaire, he catered to RBC’s Business Banking clients in St. Maarten. During his time in St. Maarten, Kopke executed turn around strategies for the St. Maarten market, contributed to growth in business banking, and championed training and development programs for his team. Recently he also completed his post graduate certificate in Economic Development from School of Environment, Enterprise, and Development – University of Waterloo. Prior to his Caribbean venture, Kopke was manager of RBC Business Banking Chatham Corridor in Ontario, Canada and the Director of the Chatham Economic Advisory Board (relates to inward invest attraction of new business into the city of Chatham, Ontario). His volunteerism is further enriched with the position as Director of the Children’s Treatment Centre,which specifically relates to raising capital for a children’s treatment center, serving children’s with special needs, that includes long term treatment of children.

Rider’s visits to the markets are known to be sparked by a lot of enthusiasm, innovative insights and inspirational opportunities. Over the next few weeks, RBC’s Senior Management will be embarking on new growth strategies drawing on the full expertise of the RBC enterprise, which co-incidentally recognizes significant upside opportunity in Curaçao. Russell Kopke will be working closely with Managing Director Steven Coutinho to pilot specific products and clients.
