RCIPS responds to Social Media Post on Domestic Violence
From RCIPS
On Friday 30 April, the RCIPS was made aware of a video that was being circulated on various social media platforms and other electronic message groups, where a young woman stated that she has been experiencing domestic abuse. Immediate action was taken by the police in order to safeguard the parties involved and the matter is currently being investigated.
The RCIPS is committed to the cause of eliminating and preventing incidents of domestic violence in our communities and we are encouraging anyone who may be involved in a relationship where they believe they may be, or are being abused, to file a complaint by calling their local police station, or 9-1-1 for emergencies. If you require further information you may call the Family Support Unit at 649-6000 to speak directly with a Domestic Violence Investigator for assistance or advice.
The RCIPS thanks the members of the public for their assistance and support.
