RCIPS target illegal alcohol selling in GT
Following reports of illegal sales of alcohol; the RCIPS conducted a raid on a Shedden Road premises in
George Town in the early hours of Sunday morning 22/12/13, which resulted in the confiscation of two coolers containing alcoholic beverages and a small quantity of cash.
A 41 year old male was arrested for permitting his premises to be used for the sale of intoxicating liquor. GT District Commander Chief Inspector Angelique Howell, commented that this operation signals the RCIPS commitment in targeting persons who are carrying on these types of illegal activities within the Cayman Islands. The senior officer asked for members of the public to report any person or persons whom they know of committing these offences.
The RCIPS conducted a similar operation recently off Sparky Drive where alcohol was being sold illegally.
Vehicle flipped in early morning crash
This morning, December 23rd 2013 at approximately 12.40am emergency personnel’s responded to a one vehicle collision on Bodden Town road approximately 200 yards from the Bodden Town Police Station. Collision occurred when driver of a Hyundai Matrix travelling west onto Bodden Town Road lost control of the vehicle which caused it to flipped on its side. Driver was transported to the Cayman Islands Hospital where he received treatment for minor injuries.
Matter under investigation by RCISPS officers.
