RE/MAX gives a second child sponsorship to Purple Dragon

Sensei Floyd & REMAX staff10 months after the RE/MAX launched the Purple Dragon Martial Arts sponsorship programme, they have generously decided to sponsor a second child.

The Purple Dragon scholarship programme was developed to provide children in the Cayman community a chance to participate in learning the martial arts, who would not be able to afford it otherwise. The programme is also aimed at promoting positive self-growth and development. The candidates for the programme are usually elected either by a parent, school teacher, counselor or guardian.

RE/MAX launched the scholarship programme in early 2012 by hosting a competition in which children responded to the statement “I want to be a Purple Dragon Warrior because…”. The competition was hugely popular with over 70 entries. One lucky winner was chosen and RE/MAX sponsored the child through a year of Purple Dragon.

RE/MAX Broker/Owner James Bovell said they were delighted with their student scholarship.

“We are so pleased with our sponsorship of our first student. It was great to receive updates from Purple Dragon outlining the progress of the student. It was astounding what a positive impact the programme had made on the child’s life already – we were really moved by this, so we decided to continue on with the sponsorship of our first child in 2013 and to sponsor another deserving pupil”.

“As a company, we are committed to improving the quality of life of the people of Cayman young and old. It gives us great pride to know that we have made a real positive difference to a child’s wellbeing through Purple Dragon”, stated Bovell.

Purple Dragon are very grateful for RE/MAX’s second child sponsorship and say they are thankful for their initial and ongoing efforts to make the Purple Dragon Scholarship programme what is it today.

“Without RE/MAX the scholarship programme would not be where it is today. We have the utmost gratitude and appreciation for their support”, said Sensei Floyd of Purple Dragon.

Floyd appeals to other companies in Cayman to get involved with the Scholarship programme. “You have the chance to make a positive impact on a child’s live, leading to a better future.”
