Revealed: The real story behind stingray photobomb
IT was the holiday snap that had everyone talking – a group of woman were posing for the camera when a stringray got in on the action.
The trio looked less than impressed as the sea creature reared onto their backs.
The hilarious image, taken in the Cayman Islands, went viral and was so good it had many people questioning whether it was for real.
But school teacher Sarah Bourland has come forward to describe the real story behind the amazing photo, taken with fellow holidaymakers Natalie Zaysoff and Kendall Harlan.
“This entire thing is hilarious to me,” she told the HuffingtonPost. “I’m a school teacher in Fort Worth (US), and all my kids think that I’m a celebrity and keep asking for my autograph.”
She said the photo was taken during a spring break cruise at Stingray Island, Cayman Island.
“The photographer originally asked us to take a photo with the stingray in front of us, which we did, but then afterward as a joke he put it on our backs without us knowing!
“Our reactions are genuine, and the photographer snapped the photo at the perfect time.
“We had no idea that the photo was so brilliant until later when he showed us the proof. We immediately bought it.”
