When you visit Rincon Volcano National Park, you’ll see several steam vents and boiling pools of mud. While at one of the steam vents, I happened to look up and see that the clouds of steam created an interesting effect as they blew over my head, into the tree tops. The sun was broken into beams by the leaves in the trees, and the steam highlighted the beams as it blew through.
The steam clouds would come in bursts and were dependent on the wind. I spent the better part of an hour sitting there, waiting for steam clouds to waft into the trees so I could capture the sun beams.
The effect was great, but it did take some work and time to get the image just right.
