Road Closure for Deputy Governor’s 5K Challenge Grand Cayman
To accommodate this Sunday morning’s Deputy Governor’s 5K Challenge (29 May), the section of Elgin Avenue, in front of the Government Administration Building, will be temporarily closed.
The closure will be from the intersection of Claude Hill Road and Elgin Ave. to the intersection of Hospital Road and Elgin Ave. This closure will be in effect from 6:00PM on Saturday evening, 28 May, until 12:00 Noon on Sunday, 29 May.
All other roads along the race route will remain open but motorists might encounter some delay between 6:30AM and 8:30AM on Sunday during the race.
The race route is as follows: begins at the Government Admin. Building, continuing east along Elgin Ave, turn south on Huldah Drive, turn west onto Smith Road, turn south onto Walker’s Road, west onto Melmac Ave., north onto South Church St to Seafarers Way, east onto Fort St., south on Edward Street, and finally back onto Elgin Ave.
The race organisers apologise for any inconvenience that might be caused as participants run and walk to raise funds for three local charities.
