Road Closure Notice for Pre-JMC and Trade Summit, and Celebrate Cayman Events this Week, 24 June
As of today, 25 June, dignitaries are arriving to participate in the Pre-Joint Ministerial Council and Trade Summit set to begin at the Kimpton Hotel tomorrow, 26 June. Motorists are advised to expect slight delays as convoys with police vehicles traverse the SMB corridor throughout the day and at different times throughout the week. No road closures are expected for this event.
A number of related Celebrate Cayman events will be taking place later in the week which dignitaries will also be attending. Motorists are advised of the following closures and potential delays in the vicinity of these events, due to general traffic as well as convoy escorts:
Friday, 28th June 2019: Expect delays in the vicinity of Pedro Castle – 5PM – 11PM
Saturday, 29th June 2019: Expect delays in the general vicinity of Truman Bodden Sports Complex
–along Olympic Way, Aspiration Drive and Fairbanks Road, from 3PM – 10PM
Sunday, 30th June 2019: George Town Waterfront – Expect delays or diversions on Harbour Drive between 10AM – 12:30PM. Harbour Drive between Fort Street and Cardinal Avenue may be closed depending on the number of those attending the event.
Monday, 1st July 2019 (Constitution Day) – 7AM to 1PM – George Town Hall (Road Closure)- Fort Street between Albert Panton Street and Mary Streets, Edward Street from Fort Street to Dr. Roy’s Drive. (Please note Fort Street to the waterfront will be closed on this date as well for another event.)
