Robbery at bus depot

At 8:07 pm Wednesday (10) 911 received a report of a robbery that had taken place at the Bus Depot, Edward Street, George Town.

A bus driver told officers he had collected two males from Coe Wood Beach, Bodden Town and upon reaching the Bus Depot on Edward Street, the two males requested that they be taken to the Rock Hole area. When he refused to do so, one of the males put an unknown object against the drivers neck and demanded his cash.

They made off with a small sum of cash from inside the vehicle. They were pursued by persons at the scene but made good their escape on foot in the Mary Street area, George Town.

An extensive search was conducted involving armed officers the K9 Unit, Marine Unit, and uniform officers, however the subjects were not located.

No shots were fired and no one was injured in the incident.

One male is described as:

– Approximately 5’3″ tall

– 23 – 25 yrs of Age

– Slim Built

– Side burns with a well-kept beard and hair cut.

– of Brown Complexion

– Wearing a white t-Shirt

– Light Blue 3/4 jeans

Second Male is described as:

– Approximately 5’6″ tall

– In his early 30s

– Slim Built

– Wearing a black T-shirt

Both males spoke with a Caymanian accent.

Police are appealing to anyone who was in the Coe Wood Beach area Bodden Town around 7:30pm on the 10th of July 2013, or at the Bus Depot at around 8:05pm to please contact Detective Constable Bowen at the George Town Police Station at 949-4222 or if you wish to remain anonymous please call Crime Stoppers at 800-8477(Tips).
