Rock with ‘Parrots of the Caribbean’ at Heritage Thursday
Prepare for a summer beach party feeling at 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 8 when the Parrots of the Caribbean return to Heritage Park for a rocking good time, as part of the free Stars in the Park concert series at Heritage Park, Farmington Rd, Farmington Hills, MI, USA.
The acclaimed Jimmy Buffett-style tribute band will feature a selection of fine musicians and fun-filled antics to delight all ages. The Stars in the Park Concert Series is generously sponsored by Mercedes-Benz Financial Services.
Parrots of the Caribbean, which has been called the “No. 1 Jimmy Buffett Tribute Band,” is a perfect mix of first-class musicianship and high energy, with all the humor and tongue-in-cheek style of the original Jimmy Buffett Coral Reefer performances. The concert will include hilarious costume changes and get-up-and-dance numbers.
Lead singer Dave Albrecht started out as the main singer in a tribute to the Blues Brothers, and later went on to perform in the “Legends in Concert” at major casinos in Las Vegas. Realizing that the Coral Reefer Band was his favorite performance style, he then put together the Parrots of the Caribbean, gathering a group of talented musicians for backing, and has been entertaining across the country ever since.
The concert takes place in the lawn area of the amphitheatre, and will last until approximately 8:30 p.m. Concert goers are encouraged to bring a blanket or lawn chair and a picnic dinner if desired. Heritage Park is at 24915 Farmington Road, between 10 and 11Mile roads in Farmington Hills.
The rainout site is the Costick Center, 28600 W. Eleven Mile Road, Farmington Hills. For more information, call the Cultural Arts Division at 248-473-1848.
