The 230,000-ton ship is a young traveler’s wonderland with slides, zip lines, surf simulators and more.

Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd. (RCL – Get Report) has upped the ante yet again.

When the company’s Symphony of the Seas debuts next April, she will beat the record held by her sister ship to become the world’s largest cruise liner at 230,000 tons with room for 5,500 guests, Royal Caribbean said in a statement.

The ship is engineered to serve as the perfect setting for a family getaway, with 125-square-meter family suites as the hallmark of the Symphony of the Seas’ design. The family suites are two levels and accommodate up to eight travelers in two bedrooms with wraparound balconies and ocean views. The suites also feature a slide in place of stairs, a Lego climbing wall, a 3-D movie-style TV room with a popcorn machine, a library of video games, an air hockey table and an on-call “genie.”

Outside of the 2,759 staterooms, the Symphony of the Seas boasts a 10-story waterslide, which is the highest at sea, an aquatic amphitheater, surf simulators, a zip line and two rock climbing walls.

For older travelers, the ship offers a Bionic Bar tended by robots, a 1,400-seat theatre, and a sports bar and arcade spanning the entire length of the ship’s Boardwalk with 30 flat screen TVs. There are more than 20 specialty and complimentary restaurants across the ship’s seven distinct neighborhoods.

The ship is also on track for technological innovations not often seen at sea. The check-in for voyages on the Symphony of the Seas will use a combination of facial recognition, bar codes and beacons to make boarding faster and cut back on long lines.

The Symphony of the Seas is the 25^th in Royal Caribbean’s fleet. When she sets sail in April, the ship will make an inaugural voyage around the Mediterranean before settling into her home port of Miami in November.

Royal Caribbean stock has climbed 55.2% since the start of the year, compared to the S&P 500 Index’s 14% gains.
