RPCU moves to PWD compound
Persons wishing to book parks and beach cabanas for special events will therefore have to visit the PWD reception to fill out an application form, which must be submitted prior to the issuing of an event permit. The event permit ensures that the public has official approval to carry out an activity at an RPCU public facility.
Application forms are available at PWD reception location only. Please note that PWD visitors’ parking is next to the government fueling station.
RPCU handles event bookings for the cabana, house, amphitheatre, or the entire park at the Dart Family Park (South Sound), Seven Mile Public Beach, Airport Park, Scholars Park, East End Heritage Field, Watler’s Park or Kaibo “ Water Cay” Public Beach. Reservations can be made via phone call to 946-8250.
The Recreation, Parks and Cemeteries Unit manages, maintains, develops and enhances the 16 parks, 18 beaches, 26 beach accesses, 16 restrooms, 13 docks/ramps, 12 cemeteries and nine beautification areas which equate to over 100 facilities on Grand Cayman. These facilities are serviced seven days per week between the hours of 5:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
In addition, RPCU is instructed by the Ministry of Finance, District Administration, Works, Lands and Agriculture to clean up the business district around George Town.
