Rubis top Cayman Islands’ student finalists announced

HP_RTS_JournalThe Rubis Top Student (RTS) Contest is designed to identify, reward and motivate young students who excel in areas of study or extracurricular activities in the Cayman Islands.

There was an exceptional response in applications for the competition and we look forward to making this contest an annual event for our talented youth as means to help further their passion and goals. We are thrilled to do our part in Fueling the Future of our top finalists in this years competition!

The 2015 finalists were chosen by an esteemed panel of judges that consisted of educational, business and cultural leaders from the community. ‘RTS 2015 Judges’

Each participant application, supporting documentation and video submission was voted on by the 5 panelists using a cumulative scoring method – awarding up to 25 points in each of the 4 areas as outlined Judging Process found in the contest terms.

1. Clear presentation by the student, video content and video within the 4 minute timeline.
2. Proof of Excellence: by the student and what they want to use the grant for/on.
3. Creativity and Innovation from the student
4. The input from the students 2 references.

1435964025_1434064116RTSRUBISCAYThere was a tie for the 10 spot this year and as such Rubis decided to extend an additional $1,000 grant to accommodate the tie in this final round of the competition.

Rubis Cayman Islands thanks all of the participants, parents, teachers, coaches and judges for their contribution and dedication. Congratulations! You are all outstanding and we hope you continue to work hard and dream big! We wish all of the 2015 finalists the very best and we are excited to see who Cayman votes as their 2015 Rubis Top Student Grand Prize Winner.

Voting begins July 3rd ,2015 and ends at 5:00pm on July 16th, 2015!

You are only able to vote once per video/finalist, but you can vote for more than one finalist. The finalist with the highest votes/likes wins the Grand Prize! The Grand Prize winner will receive a $5,000 grant and the remaining finalists will each receive a $1,000 grant.
