30 April 2024 – Worldwide Olympic Partner Samsung has celebrated the countdown to the Olympic Games Paris 2024 by opening an innovative brand showcase in the French capital.
Located on the iconic Avenue des Champs-Élysées, the Olympics Rendezvous @ Samsung (OR@S) allows visitors to experience Samsung’s cutting-edge mobile technology, learn about its Olympic partnership and engage in a variety of interactive activities related to the Olympic Games.
The space has been designed by renowned French architect Jean Nouvel, whose past projects include the Louvre Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates, the Torre Agbar in Barcelona and the Institut du Monde Arabe in Paris.
The 2008 Pritzker Architecture Prize-winner participated in the ribbon-cutting to officially open the showcase, alongside Étienne Thobois, Chief Executive Officer of Paris 2024, and Pierre Rabadan, the Deputy Mayor of Paris. Speakers at the event included TM Roh, President and Head of Mobile eXperience Business at Samsung, Anne-Sophie Voumard, Managing Director of IOC Television & Marketing Services, and Team Samsung Galaxy athletes Johanne Defay (surfing, France), Ugo Didier (Para-swimming, France) and Karam Singh (breaking, Great Britain).
“There are now less than 100 days to go to the Opening Ceremony, and we can really feel the excitement building – not only here in France but around the world,” said Voumard.
“The opening of Samsung’s incredible space here today is another exciting step in that journey, providing fans with an amazing opportunity to engage with the Games and Samsung’s cutting-edge technology like never before. This showcase is the perfect illustration of the support Samsung provides to the Olympic Movement through its innovative wireless technologies, which enable fans around the world to stay connected and share the excitement of the Games.”
