Saturday, 29 June, Weather Update 4:00 p.m.

Grand Cayman, 29 June 2024 The Cayman Islands National Weather Service is monitoring Hurricane Beryl, which at 4 p.m. was located 720 miles east-southeast of Barbados. At present, this system poses no immediate threat to the Cayman Islands; however, note that the forecast cone covers the Cayman Islands by Thursday morning. Residents are encouraged to remain vigilant and stay updated with the latest weather developments.

Moderate southeasterly winds and seas are expected across the Cayman area for the next 24 hours in association with a ridge of high pressure over the northern Caribbean. Radar images show isolated showers within the Cayman Islands area which are moving towards the west-northwest.

FORECAST:
Tonight: Partly cloudy skies with a 30% chance of showers. Temperatures will fall to the upper 70’s °F. Winds will be east to southeast at 10 to 15 knots. Seas will be moderate with wave heights of 3 to 5 feet.

Tomorrow: Partly cloudy skies with a 30% chance of showers. Temperatures will rise to the upper 80’s °F with a heat index near 103 °F. Winds will be east to southeast at 10 to 15 knots. Seas will be slight to moderate with wave heights of 2 to 4 feet.

OUTLOOK: is for light to moderate winds and seas with isolated showers through Tuesday evening.
