Scottish whisky company sells a rare bottle to a collector in the Cayman Islands for a record price
Glen Flagler, a premium Scottish whisky brand, recently sold at auction a very rare collectible bottle to a whisky collector.
The collector, we have been informed, resides in the Cayman Islands.
The price paid for this bottle of Scotch was $134,000.
This is a Caribbean record.
This was in the same month that Scottish whisky auctions hit a record high around the world with a price for a bottle of rare Scotch reaching 1.5 million British sterling ($1,940,000).
The auction house was Bonhams.

Another auction house that Glen Flagler use is Christies.
The record sale of the Glen Flagler bottle in the Caribbean shows the region is now an emerging power, according to the whisky company.
