Police marine units and the force helicopter have been looking for a man missing in the sea off Pedro Castle.

One man, thought to be a teenager, jumped off the rocks and got into difficulties in the water just after 6.30pm. Another man tried to rescue him but his attempts failed.

Police say one of the men managed to get out of the water but the other is still missing.

A spokesman for the RCIPS said: “Both aerial and marine assets were utilised in an attempt to locate the missing swimmer without success.

“Searches will resume in the morning when visibility and weather conditions improve.”
