Seniors enjoy sumptuous lunch and communion
The hall was “packed to capacity” and the luncheon commenced with a welcome from Annie Rose Scott followed by Praise Time led by Blossom Scott. Rollin Ebanks said a prayer and then there were greetings from George Town MLA and Minister of Community Affairs and Housing Hon. Mike Adams and the Director of DCFS Alicia Jen Dixon. After a “Meet and Greet” Carmen Conolly said a thanksgiving prayer. Ethel Jackson read the scripture (from John 20: 1-10) and then it was time for Holy Communion conducted by Rev Yvette Noble-Bloomfield.
During the Communion the following hymns were sung, “Just As I Am”, “What a Friend We Have In Jesus”, “The Old Rugged Cross”, “When I Survey the Wondrous Cross” and “I Serve A Risen Saviour”.
Then it was time for lunch after a blessing from Elma Ebanks. I heard those present say it was one of the nicest gatherings they had been to and the food was “sumptuous.”
Debbie Webb Sibblies, Dep. Director of DCFS, gave some closing remarks and Aleita Scott gave a final prayer for travellers.
Many congratulations to the organisers and a very big THANK YOU.
