Serious sexual assault – Snooze Lane,  off West Bay Road

George Town detectives are investigating a serious sexual assault which occurred in the early hours of this morning within the grounds of Coco Plum apartments, Snooze Lane.

About 2.45 am today, police received a report that a 35-year-old woman had been the victim of a serious sexual assault at the above location.

The woman, who is a Cayman Islands resident, had been making her way from Queens Court to Coco Plum apartments when she was assaulted.

There is no description available of the suspect at this time.

The woman was taken to the Cayman Islands Hospital in George Town following the incident and has subsequently been released.

West Bay altercation – Man charged and due in court

A 20-year-old man from West Bay was arrested on Tuesday, 11 February 2014, following an altercation in the Birch Tree Hill area of West Bay.  He has now been charged with wounding with intent and is expected to appear in court today, Friday 14 February 2014.

The 25-year-old male victim, who sustained neck injuries as a result of the altercation,  was treated at the Cayman Island Hospital, George Town, and released on the same day.
