Police are investigating reports a person has been shot in the West Bay area.

It is understood the shooting took place around 11.30pm. It is not clear if the victim’s injuries are life-threatening.

Paramedics were called to the area and treated the victim at the scene before taking the person to hospital.

Detectives have cordoned off the area near to where the shooting took place and are carrying out routine enquires.
