Single line tattoos
Single line tattoos that are simply beautiful

There are endless possibilities to consider when contemplating your next ink. But in the vast sea of roses and sailor tats, finding something truly original or inspiring can be difficult. If you’re looking for something different, it’s time to check out single line tattoo inspo.
Before continuous line drawings became popular jewelry mainstays, the style was often employed in art classes as a drawing exercise. Mastered, the practice becomes a highly impressive technique in which an artist must complete an entire image using as few lines as possible — and ideally, only one.
1. Girl With a Pearl Earring Feeds Birds
Reworking an iconic artistic concept can give an old portrait new life. This tattoo is clearly inspired by Vermeer’s masterpiece “Girl With a Pearl Earring.” The birds are a nice touch.
2. A Passionate Kiss
Portraits are an essential form of single line work and involve finding subtle ways to move between eyes, lips, and ears. Here, adding a hand at the nape of the neck adds flair and extra difficulty to the continuous line.
3. Floral Beauty
This floral piece is absolutely gorgeous. While the tattoo is not purely a single line work, it draws from that style. The addition of greenery adds plenty of texture to this black & white bust.
4. Intertwined Lovers
This spare portrait is really exceptional, calling back to illusions of lamps or faces. The continuous line adds dimension here that other styles may not be able to access.
